Nutrition

Good nutrition as part of a healthier lifestyle is something that is very popular in today’s society, however, due to all of the “fad diets” that we continue to be bombarded with, many people are left wondering, “what is good nutrition?” The answer to this question can be very complex, because good nutrition may not be the same from one person to another. Depending on your physiological make-up and current health conditions, you may require your own unique combination of foods or supplements. This will insure that your body has the fuel that it needs to be able to function at its best. To help answer the question “what’s right for me,” it is important for you to have a Nutritional Consultation & Evaluation.

An Evaluation can determine which vitamins your body is lacking; find the weaknesses and strengths in your daily diet, and asses any underlying complaints you may have that are nutritionally oriented. If you have a weight problem, this can be easily handled, and will be done with proper nutritional guidelines. In addition, a wide range of other conditions respond well to a nutritional approach, such as Yeast infections, Hypoglycemia; peri-Menopausal complaints; Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, General Debility, and many others.

At our office, we use a sophisticated piece of equipment that analyzes Acupuncture Points through computerized testing, and helps to indicate the underlying cause for a complaint. It will assess which supplements to suggest for an ongoing problem. The process that we use in evaluating your specific condition will allow you to make informed choices about your own health care, and gives you a greater understanding of any possible alternatives that may be available to you.

Jeanne D. Alexander, M.S., D.C. has been the nutritionist at our office for more than a decade. She has a Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition and has been counseling on nutrition for over 50 years. With a background in chiropractic, Dr. Alexander has an in-depth understanding of the human body and of the specific nutritional needs that each person has. During your consultation, she will be able to decipher what your body requires to help create the healthier lifestyle you desire. Nutritional appointments are currently available on Tuesdays, please contact our office to schedule.    203.272.4513.

As part of her counseling, Dr. Alexander may suggest a variety of natural supplements after she determines what would improve your current condition.  She is a certified distributor of the extremely high quality Standard Process Inc. products, and a full line of these supplements is available at our office.  For more information, please visit www.StandardProcess.com.
