We apologize for the inconvenience, but at this time, Alexander & Grenon Chiropractic Center, P.C. no longer offers the service of Massage Therapy. Due to personal reasons and family responsibility, our massage therapist could not continue her work with us. Currently, we are referring out to other local massage businesses and would be happy to give a recommendation. Lastly, we are not actively seeking employment of another LMT, however, we are accepting resume's with the hope of reinstating the service of massage within our practice.
The Benefits of Massage Massage is no longer considered a luxury item; instead, it has become an important part of a healthy lifestyle for many people. Whether you’re looking to continue preventative health and wellness care, or need to get some relief from tight muscles and stress, massage has proven to be very beneficial. And just like exercise and a well-balanced diet, massage is most effective when the treatments are on a regular basis. You may be wondering if massage therapy can help you obtain your health goals, and the truth is, it can promote better well-being for nearly all of us.
A study was recently released by the American Medical Association that stress is the cause of, or has a detrimental effect on 80% – 85% of all human illness and disease. For instance, in women, stress has been linked to:
- Fatigue
- Hair Loss
- Bad Complexion
- Insomnia
And in men and women, stress can lead to:
- High blood pressure
- Heart disease
- Tension headaches
- Weakened immune system
Relieving stress is just one of the many benefits of massage therapy. Like chiropractic, the basic goal of massage is to help the body to heal itself; and allow us to achieve optimum wellness. Other than stress reduction, a few ways in which massage helps us to enhance our health and reach our lifestyle goals are as follows:
- Relieving muscle tension and stiffness
- Alleviating discomfort during pregnancy
- Helping to reduce blood pressure
- Strengthening the immune system
- Relieving tension headaches
- Promoting better sleep
- Improving circulation
