James D. Grenon, D.C.

Welcome! Whether we’ve met in person before or whether you’re trying to get a feel for who I am via the world-wide-web, here is your opportunity to get to know me a little bit better. Although it is difficult to reveal my personality over the Internet, hopefully this page will give you a better idea of where I come from. And of course, you can always stop by our office for a better taste of what we’re all about.

Here’s a little bit about my education. I graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I then went on to earn my Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. I have been practicing chiropractic since 1990; my first two years as an associate in Torrington, CT; and since 1993 in my hometown of Cheshire.

I am proud to say that I have a passion for chiropractic, and practicing in the town where I grew up has only fueled my enthusiasm. Over the years, I have treated thousands of patients and it never gets old; I am excited to come to work everyday. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping a patient in pain, especially those who come to me as their last resort. Some are skeptical at first, but these patients are usually amazed and relieved by the miraculous power that our hands on chiropractic treatments can provide.

Training at Logan College gave me familiarity with all of the traditional manual adjusting techniques commonly used by chiropractors. I also practice a variety of low-force techniques for patients that are better suited for this type of care; including children, elderly patients, or individuals with conditions such as osteoporosis, fibromyalgia or degenerative conditions. In addition, I have always worked closely with the medical community and feel that medicine and chiropractic compliment one another in the treatment of spinal and other musculo-skeletal disorders.

On a more personal note, I must admit that I have been blessed with a wonderful family.  I have two beautiful daughters; Danielle who is 11 and Samantha, who is 8. Aside from spending time with them, I enjoy golfing on a regular basis; a hobby that I began taking seriously only a few years ago. It took some time, but I came to my senses and realized that instead of getting injured playing in a men’s hockey league, I would much rather be frustrated on the golf course. As for right now, life couldn’t be better. I have an incredible family, a growing practice, and an opportunity to help people by doing what I love. And to top that, the Sox have won the World Series twice in 3 years, re-igniting the inter-office rivalry between Dr. Ruddy (an avid Yankee fan) and myself.
